There are dizzying views from the top of The Shard, one of London’s newest buildings and the tallest in Western Europe. Designed by architect Renzo Piano, the building stands 244 meters tall. Ticket prices are pretty high too – but the view from the top, across London and up to 40 miles away – is undeniably spectacular. The triple-height viewing platform – spanning levels 69 to 72 – has interactive touchscreen telescopes, a small bar, and an open-air viewing space. Under the ‘guaranteed view’ scheme, if you can’t see three of London’s key landmarks due to poor visibility on the day of your visit, you’re eligible for a free return ticket on a future date.
