Buying property in London never comes cheap. But the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea has been named the priciest place in Britain to live – with property there costing almost six times the UK national average of £2,033 per square metre.

All the other spots in the top 10 most expensive postcodes are also in London, according to a ranking by the UK lender Halifax. Here’s how the priciest property in Britain measures up:
