Tate Modern, London

The Tate Modern is an art gallery located by the River Thames, housed in the old Bankside Power Station. It is noted for its vast Turbine Hall, used to display large-scale art works. Permanent exhibits include the national collection of British art from 1900 to the present day, as well as international modern and contemporary art. There are also temporary exhibits, which usually attract an entrance fee. The Tate, just a short walk over the Millennium Bridge from St Paul’s, has been an immensely popular attraction since opening in 2000.
