Inspired by the old colonial clubs of India, this Mayfair restaurant inhabits a dark wooden-panelled room that smacks of the days of the British Raj, albeit with a contemporary twist. This is not a place for the average Brit take on Indian food, however: Those seeking a bog-standard chicken tikka masala and naan should look elsewhere. The modern Indian cooking on offer includes unusual dishes such as quail seekh kebab with pickled green chilli chutney (£15), achari stone bass tikka with lasooni tomato chutney (£20), and venison keema naan with cucumber and cumin raita (£8).
